MEDICAL AESTHETICS

Evidence-driven, affordable, and offered with integrity.

The Synergy Difference

At Synergy, our approach to aesthetics is grounded in caring about patients’ well-being. Our appearance can affect our confidence, how others treat us, and our quality of life.

While the ultimate resolution may rest in transcendence, we know that accepting and loving ourselves completely may be a journey. From this perspective, we offer every treatment with integrity – ensuring all that we provide is evidence-based, safe, and effective. We are dedicated to achieving what you are seeking while retaining a completely natural result.

Finally, we strive to foster a relationship with medical aesthetics that promotes and does not detract from one’s well-being, physically, mentally, and financially. We explore these perspectives in depth before proceeding with a plan that is comfortable and truly conducive.

Medical injectables

BOTOX ®

BOTOX® is a neuromodulator (muscle relaxant) which is a prescription consisting of a purified protein. Neuromodulators serve to block the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscle, thereby limiting muscle activity. This ultimately helps to improve the appearance of facial lines associated with aging cosmetically.

DERMAL FILLER

Dermal fillers are made of a protein naturally found in the body called Hyaluronic Acid. They are injected by a nurse or doctor below the skin’s surface to improve facial volume, asymmetry, unwanted lines, and wrinkles and fill in undereye bags, all of which can restore a healthier, refreshed appearance.

BELKYRA ™

Belkyra is a safe and minimally invasive fat dissolving treatment, specific for targeting submental (area under chin) fat or as some may refer to as the “double chin.” Health Canada approved that Belkyra is made up of a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid that is naturally occurring in the body. When injected, it destroys fat cells, which are then naturally absorbed in the body. This treatment can significantly reduce submental fat, as well as redefine the jawline.

Medical Aesthetics

At Synergy, we offer effective, evidence-based aesthetic procedures that provide natural-looking results. Synergy offers Cochrane and area the most comprehensive menu of medical aesthetics, from a vampire facial to medical-grade skincare. By prioritizing our patient’s well-being, they will leave looking and feeling their best.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Rejuvenation with Microneedling

A microneedling device is used to create micro-channels in the skin. As the pen glides over the skin, multiple tiny pins puncture the skin within the epidermis and dermis. This trauma initiates a natural healing response, allowing the collagen and elastin to reproduce and restore the skin. In conjunction with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), which utilizes platelets containing growth factors from a patient’s own blood, it further assists in stimulating stem cells to produce new collagen. When applied topically to certain areas of the face, neck, chest, and even the scalp, it leads to significant improvement in the skin’s texture while diminishing wrinkles and fine lines.

By pairing PRP with microneedling, it initiates the formation of a tighter collagen matrix leading to immediate results and long-term benefits, producing a more firm, youthful appearance.

Hair Restoration

Many people experience thinning hair and balding, which can contribute to low-self esteem in both men and women. According to studies, 66% of men by age 35 and 80% of women by age 60 experience hair loss. Synergy offers Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy to prevent and treat thinning of hair and balding. These injections into the scalp trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by stimulating blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the hair shaft thickness.

Lash Enhancement

Latisse® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) treats hypotrichosis of the eyelashes by increasing their growth, thickness, and darkness.

SKINMEDICA

SkinMedica was founded by physicians and is deeply rooted in science – unlike other skincare companies on the market today. With a commitment to research and clinical data, SkinMedica provides scientifically proven formulations that include growth factors, antioxidants, and retinoids that enhance the skin’s natural appearance.

These clinical results can be highlighted by over 70 published articles involving third-party, blinded, and placebo-controlled comparative studies. SkinMedica demonstrates a commitment to providing pharmaceutical grade and multi-modality holistic skincare products.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are made of a protein naturally found in the body called Hyaluronic Acid. They are injected by a nurse or doctor below the surface of the skin to improve facial volume, asymmetry, unwanted lines and wrinkles, and fill in undereye bags, all of which can restore a healthier, refreshed appearance. The lines and wrinkles appear due to collagen breakdown that is associated with aging. Upon injecting the dermal filler under the skin, the skin instantly restores its volume and hydration.

Optimal areas of injection of Botox:

Therapeutic uses and benefits of BOTOX also include the treatment of the following:

What to expect during the treatment:

Procedures generally take about 15 minutes and there is virtually no downtime. Initial effects of treatment may be noticed as early as 3-4 days, with peak optimal results at 2 weeks, and lasting for approximately 3 months.

Dermal Fillers can be used for:

What to expect during the treatment:

Treatments are minimally invasive and generally very tolerable with little to no downtime.
The right type and amount of filler will depend on several factors including the treatment area and patient’s individual goals. Depending on the area the patient would like to treat following a consultation, a topical numbing cream and ice pack may be applied. Results of treatment are immediate and may last up to 1-2 years, with full effects of the dermal filler injection showing at 2 weeks.

What to expect during treatment:

The treatment itself will take approximately 20-30 minutes. After your consultation, your injector will landmark the treatment area and apply the injection grid. Ice will be applied before and after treatment for your comfort, alongside a topical numbing cream. You may experience pain during the treatment.
Treatments are performed through a series of customized sessions spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart to achieve optimal results.

Microneedling PRP Treatment can be used to treat the following:

What to expect during a PRP Facial Treatment:

The PRP facial process begins with blood being drawn and spun in a centrifuge. After 15 minutes, the blood separates into 3 layers: Platelet-Poor Plasma, Platelet-Rich Plasma, and Red Blood Cells. This process isolates the platelets and growth factors that will provide all the benefits. The PRP injections will be paired with microneedling to improve the absorption of the PRP. The treatment itself will take approximately 45-60 minutes, with topical numbing cream applied for patient comfort. It begins with the microneedling treatment, following the application of the serum topically. Alternatively, it can be injected directly into the targeted area (hair restoration) or injected underneath the skin (under eyes, jawline, décolleté, and/or around the lips). It is recommended to do 3 treatments at least 4 weeks apart for optimal results.

What to expect during a PRP treatment:

To prevent and treat thinning of hair and balding we have Platelet- Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. It is a four-step medical treatment in which:-

  • 1.

First, the person’s blood is drawn
  • 2.

Microneedling is completed on the scalp
  • 3.

The blood is processed by being placed in a centrifuge. After 15 minutes the blood separates into 3 layers: Platelet-Poor Plasma, Platelet-Rich Plasma, and Red Blood Cells
  • 4.

The PRP is drawn into a syringe and injected into the scalp

We recommend 3 treatments at least 4 weeks apart for optimal results.
