Individuals who suffer from chronic headaches, migraines, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders may experience disruptions to their employment, relationships, and overall quality of life. Research indicates that Calgary, Cochrane, and neighboring regions exhibit a higher incidence of these conditions. Fortunately, there exist several effective and safe treatment modalities available to address and alleviate these symptoms. These options include preventative and abortive medications, supplements, biological agents, and therapeutic Botox injections. At Synergy, our treatment approach extends beyond medication and injections, taking into account various factors such as psychological, musculoskeletal, and functional contributions to a patient’s condition. Through this integrative approach, we aim to provide comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

Aimovig

How does Aimovig work?

In your body you have CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide) and CGRP receptors. CGRP attaches to and activates the receptor, which may play a key role in migraines. Aimovig blocks the CGRP receptor so that CGRP cannot attach to it. Aimovig is the first and only migraine preventive treatment designed to block the CGRP receptor.
